The postcode is a postal key, not a territorial one. One and the same number can cover several municipalities, a municipality can have several numbers, and a few numbers straddle a cantonal boundary.
The classic mistake is to aggregate data by postcode believing you are aggregating by municipality: the count then doubles up, each object being counted as many times as there are localities under its code. Any join on the postcode must be explicitly de-duplicated.
